PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

proposal-131.click is an impersonation phishing site on a throwaway-style domain whose name has nothing to do with the business it shows. PhishDestroy first saw it on 2026-09-05. It remained online with live content when last checked on 2026-10-19. The page title presents it as "Tilden Auto & Towing | Chippewa Falls, WI", a local garage, while we classify the domain as impersonation phishing.

How the scam works

Impersonation pages borrow the name and look of a real business or service so that visitors trust them enough to type in information or follow instructions. Here the borrowed identity is a small-town auto and towing shop, attached to a generic "proposal" domain on the .click extension. Anyone who arrives through a link and believes they are dealing with the real company can be led into handing over contact details, logins or payment information. Wallet-focused blocklists also list the domain, so crypto users should treat any wallet prompt or recovery-phrase request on it as theft.

Evidence

On 2026-09-11, 8 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain: Chong Lua Dao, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, Gridinsoft, Kaspersky, SOCRadar and VIPRE. That is a minority of engines, but the vendors behind it work independently and include major commercial ones. Spamhaus lists it in its domain blocklist as phishing. MetaMask and SEAL block it alongside PhishDestroy, and it appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses, which means several separate teams reached the same conclusion.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through NAMECHEAP on 2026-09-03 and was being flagged just two days later. That short gap fits a site built for a campaign, with no history as a legitimate business. It resolves to 75.2.60.5 on Amazon's AMAZON-02 network in the US, a large shared platform where a single site is easy to stand up and replace. Its Let's Encrypt certificate gives it a browser padlock, which shows only that the connection is encrypted and says nothing about whether the site is safe.

What to do

If you entered a password on this site, change it wherever you reuse it and turn on two-factor authentication. If you gave card or bank details, contact your bank to block the card and dispute any charges. If you typed a wallet recovery phrase, treat that wallet as compromised and move your funds to a new wallet created from a fresh phrase. If you need Tilden Auto & Towing, reach the business through a number or listing you find independently.
