PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

onstream-app.lat presents itself as the official source for the OnStream streaming app, under the page title "OnStream APK New Version: Free Download on Android (OFFICIAL)". It targets Android users who search for a free OnStream download and land on a site that claims to be the real one. PhishDestroy first flagged the domain on 2026-09-19. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving its content.

How the scam works

Pages like this rank for searches such as "OnStream APK" and borrow the app's name and the word "OFFICIAL" to look authoritative. The visitor is pushed to download and sideload an Android package from outside Google Play, which skips the store's vetting. Because the file comes from an impersonator, the visitor cannot know what it actually installs or what permissions it requests once running. The page title advertises an app download, while our classification is impersonation phishing. The download offer is the hook and the point of risk.

Evidence

Six of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain when checked on 2026-09-29: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft, SOCRadar and VIPRE. That count is modest, so many security tools will not warn a visitor yet. The crypto-security blocklists maintained by MetaMask and SEAL list it alongside PhishDestroy. Three AlienVault OTX threat pulses also reference the domain, which shows other researchers are tracking it independently.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through Spaceship, Inc. on 2026-02-23, roughly seven months before PhishDestroy detected it. That gap suggests a page left to build search visibility rather than a burner spun up for a short campaign. It resolves to a Cloudflare, Inc. address geolocated to Canada. Cloudflare sits in front of the real server, so the origin host is not visible from the outside.

What to do

If you downloaded an APK from this site, do not open it, and uninstall it if you already did. Run a scan with Google Play Protect or a reputable mobile security app. Review which apps hold accessibility, SMS or device-admin permissions. If you entered any account passwords on the phone after installing, change them from a clean device and turn on two-factor authentication. Only install streaming apps from official stores or the developer's verified channels. Defenders should block onstream-app.lat at DNS and web proxies, watch for Android package downloads referred from it, and report it to Cloudflare and Spaceship so the content can be taken down.
