PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

morphgo.org is an impersonation phishing page aimed at crypto users. MetaMask's and SEAL's blocklists both carry it, and ChainPatrol flags it as well. PhishDestroy first saw it on 2026-08-21. It has been offline since 2026-09-16, when the hosting provider blocked its content, and it was still dead at the last check on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

The page presented itself under the title "Service Status," and urlscan.io matched its look to a generic Cloudflare-style screen. That title reads like a routine status or verification page, while we classify the site as impersonation phishing. Pages of this type borrow the appearance of a trusted service to lower a visitor's guard. They then push the visitor to sign in, enter a recovery phrase, or connect a wallet and approve a prompt. Whatever is typed or signed goes straight to the operators, and the result can be stolen accounts or emptied wallets.

Evidence

On 2026-09-13, 8 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain: ChainPatrol, alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, Gridinsoft, SOCRadar and VIPRE. That count is modest, but several of these vendors specialise in crypto and phishing threats. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict, and Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL under the phishing category. The domain also appears in 3 AlienVault OTX threat pulses and on the PhishDestroy, MetaMask and SEAL blocklists, so wallet-focused defenders reached the same conclusion independently.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through Gname.com Pte. Ltd. It sat behind Cloudflare's network at an address geolocated to Canada, which hides the true origin server. Its certificate came from Google Trust Services (WE1), the kind of automatically issued certificate that gives a phishing page the same padlock as a legitimate site. The site went offline less than four weeks after PhishDestroy first logged it.

What to do

If you entered a password on this page, change it right away, starting with any exchange or wallet-linked account. Turn on app-based 2FA and sign out of active sessions. If you typed a seed phrase, treat that wallet as compromised and move your funds to a new wallet created from a fresh phrase. If you connected a wallet and signed anything, review and revoke token approvals with a trusted revocation tool. Defenders should block morphgo.org at DNS and proxy level and search mail and web logs for earlier visits.
