PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

misbaruae.com is an impersonation phishing page whose Arabic title reads "مسبار الإمارات" (Misbar Emirates). It borrows the Misbar name with a UAE twist to look like a local, official edition, which makes Arabic-speaking users in the Emirates the most likely targets. PhishDestroy first flagged the domain on 2026-09-25. On 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving content.

How the scam works

Impersonation pages like this one rely on a familiar name in the browser tab and a domain that looks plausible. A visitor who trusts the "Misbar Emirates" branding is then asked to act: sign in, submit personal details, or follow a prompt that leads to a payment or data form. Whatever is typed in goes to the operators, not to the brand being imitated. Victims can lose account access, personal information, and any money they are pushed to send.

Evidence

On 2026-09-30, VirusTotal showed 7 of 91 engines flagging the domain: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft, MalwareURL, SOCRadar and VIPRE. That is a minority of engines, but the flags come from seven unrelated vendors that reached the same verdict independently. The domain also appears in 6 AlienVault OTX threat pulses, so other researchers are tracking it too. PhishDestroy lists it on its own blocklist.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2022-03-09 through NAMECHEAP INC, more than four years before PhishDestroy detected it. An older domain can slip past filters that focus on newly registered names, so its age should not be read as a sign of trust. The site runs on Namecheap, Inc. hosting in the US, so the registrar and host belong to the same provider. Its Let's Encrypt certificate gives the padlock icon, which shows the connection is encrypted but says nothing about whether the site is legitimate.

What to do

If you entered a password on this site, change it now, along with any other account that uses the same password, and turn on two-factor authentication. If you shared identity documents or contact details, expect follow-up messages that pretend to come from Misbar or UAE authorities, and verify them through official channels. If you entered card or bank details, contact your bank to block the card and dispute any charges.
