Overview

lunexia.icu presented itself as "Lunexia: Most Popular Online Crypto Casino Based on Blockchain," a pitch aimed at crypto holders looking for a provably fair place to gamble. PhishDestroy classifies it as a gambling site flagged as fraudulent and first detected it on 2026-09-05. The site went offline on 2026-09-12. When we last checked on 2026-10-19, the domain no longer resolved.

How the scam works

Fake crypto casinos run on the promise of instant on-chain payouts. Players send crypto to a deposit address or connect a wallet, and early balances or wins may look real. Withdrawals are then blocked, delayed, or tied to new demands such as extra deposits, "verification" payments or unlocking fees. Each step pulls in more money. Because blockchain transfers cannot be reversed, anything deposited is effectively lost once the operators stop responding or the domain disappears.

Evidence

On 2026-09-11, VirusTotal showed 9 of 89 engines flagging the domain, including ESET, Kaspersky, Fortinet, G-Data, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, alphaMountain.ai, Ermes and the Vietnamese anti-scam project Chong Lua Dao. That is a modest count, but it covers several major vendors. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict and matched the page to generic crypto and crypto-scam patterns. The domain is listed on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists alongside PhishDestroy, so wallet users were warned at the point of connection. Four AlienVault OTX threat pulses also reference it.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-05-04 through Fewmoretaps OU d/b/a Trustname.com, roughly four months before PhishDestroy detected it. That gap suggests the operators let the domain age before promoting the casino. Traffic ran through Cloudflare, with the address geolocated to Canada. That address belongs to Cloudflare's proxy network, so it hides the real origin server. The .icu extension and the short lifespan after detection fit a throwaway domain built to be abandoned once it is flagged.

What to do

If you deposited on lunexia.icu, do not send anything more to "unlock" a balance. That money will not come back, and anyone later offering to recover it for a fee is running a second scam. Save your transaction hashes and deposit addresses, and report them to your exchange and local police or cybercrime unit. If you connected a wallet and signed token approvals, review and revoke them, and move funds to a fresh wallet if you signed anything you did not understand. Security teams should block the domain, watch for lookalike casino domains with the same branding, and add the indicators to wallet and DNS filters.
