PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

livefeq--ledger.pages.dev is a phishing page that impersonates Ledger, the hardware wallet maker, and targets people who keep crypto on Ledger devices. The "livefeq" prefix plays on Ledger Live, the company's companion app, so the address looks like an official support or update page at a glance. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-08. The site has been offline since 2026-09-17, its content is blocked by the hosting provider, and it was still down at the last check on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Ledger impersonation pages usually show a fake security alert, firmware notice or app sync prompt. They then ask the visitor to type in their 24-word recovery phrase to verify or restore the device. A real Ledger never asks for that phrase on a website. Anyone who enters it gives the attackers full control of every account derived from it, and they can empty the wallet without touching the physical device. The page title now reads "Suspected Phishing | Cloudflare", which is the provider's own warning page and not the original lure, while we classify the site as Ledger impersonation.

Evidence

On 2026-09-18, 15 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain, including BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Gridinsoft, alphaMountain.ai and CyRadar. That spread of independent vendors is strong agreement for a short-lived page. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict. The domain also appears on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists alongside PhishDestroy, so wallet software and security responders already treat it as hostile.

Infrastructure

The project was set up on Cloudflare Pages on 2026-08-29, ten days before PhishDestroy detected it. That is a typical lead time for a throwaway phishing deployment. It resolved to Cloudflare, Inc. network space geolocated to Canada. Free pages.dev subdomains let operators borrow a trusted hosting name and spin up new copies quickly, which is why the brand keyword sits inside the hostname.

What to do

If you typed your Ledger recovery phrase on this page, treat the wallet as compromised. Set up a new device or reset your current one with a freshly generated phrase, then move any remaining funds to it immediately. Do not reuse the old phrase anywhere. If you only visited and entered nothing, no action is needed beyond ignoring any further "Ledger" prompts that arrive by email or ads. Defenders should block the domain and watch for similar Ledger-themed pages.dev subdomains in mail and web filtering.
