PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

lis-skiins.com is a phishing page that impersonates LIS-SKINS, a marketplace where gamers sell Counter-Strike 2, CS:GO and Dota 2 skins for cash. The domain adds a second "i" to "skins", a typo that is easy to miss in a search result or a chat link. PhishDestroy first saw it on 2026-09-25. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving its content.

How the scam works

The page carries a Russian title that copies the real service: "Sell CS2, CS GO and Dota 2 skins for real money on LIS-SKINS." Lookalike skin-trading sites like this one usually ask visitors to sign in with Steam through a convincing but fake login form. Attackers can then use the captured credentials or session to take over the account and move its inventory. A victim can lose the skins they meant to sell, plus control of their Steam account and any value tied to it.

Evidence

When VirusTotal checked the domain on 2026-10-07, 15 of 92 security engines flagged it. Those engines include BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, alphaMountain.ai, ADMINUSLabs, CyRadar and Chong Lua Dao, so the verdict does not depend on a single vendor. The domain also appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses and is listed on the PhishDestroy blocklist.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-02-28 through NICENIC INTERNATIONAL GROUP CO., LIMITED. That is roughly seven months before PhishDestroy detected it, which suggests it was set up well ahead of the campaign or ran quietly for a while. It is hosted on the Datacamp Limited network in Germany. A Let's Encrypt certificate gives the page a padlock in the browser, but the padlock only means the connection is encrypted and says nothing about whether the site is the real LIS-SKINS.

What to do

If you signed in to Steam through this site, change your Steam password right away and revoke all other sessions with Steam Guard's "deauthorize all other devices" option. Then revoke any Steam Web API key you did not create yourself, and check your trade offers and trade history for transfers you did not make. If you reused that password anywhere else, change it there too, and turn on the Steam Mobile Authenticator if you have not already. Defenders and community moderators should block lis-skiins.com, warn trading groups about this lookalike spelling, and report it to the registrar and hosting provider.
