PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

ledgr-live-os.pages.dev is an impersonation phishing page whose name copies Ledger Live, the companion app for Ledger hardware wallets, with one letter dropped from the brand. It targets Ledger owners who search for the app or follow a link expecting an official download or update. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-08. The site has been offline since 2026-09-17, and its content was still blocked by the hosting provider when last checked on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Fake Ledger Live pages usually claim the wallet needs an urgent update, sync or security check. They then ask the visitor to type in the 24-word recovery phrase, or offer a rigged copy of the app that asks for the same thing. Whoever holds that phrase can rebuild the wallet on their own device and empty it, so the hardware wallet gives no protection once the words are typed into a web page. The page title now reads "Suspected Phishing | Cloudflare", which is Cloudflare's warning screen and not the impersonation content we classified.

Evidence

urlscan.io rated the site malicious. Its only brand match was Cloudflare's generic interstitial, because the scan saw the provider's block page. The domain is listed by PhishDestroy, MetaMask and SEAL, three wallet-focused blocklists that each flagged it separately. VirusTotal showed 0 detections across 89 engines on 2026-09-18, one day after the site went down. A clean VirusTotal result here means the engines had no live phishing content left to see. It does not mean the site was safe.

Infrastructure

The project was created on 2026-08-15, about three weeks before PhishDestroy caught it. It ran on a free Cloudflare Pages subdomain, so the operator never had to buy or register a domain. Traffic was served through Cloudflare's network, with the address placed in Canada. The site came down nine days after first detection, when the provider replaced the page with its phishing warning.

What to do

If you entered your recovery phrase on this site, treat the wallet as compromised. Set up a new seed on a reset Ledger and move any remaining funds there right away, before trying anything else. If you installed software from it, remove it and scan the machine. Only ever get Ledger Live from Ledger's official site. If you also connected a hot wallet, review and revoke any token approvals you granted. Defenders should block lookalike Ledger subdomains on pages.dev and other free hosting platforms, and report new ones to the hosting provider and wallet blocklists such as SEAL.
