PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

ledggerlogin.pages.dev is a credential phishing page posing as Ledger, the hardware wallet maker. It targets Ledger owners who search for help setting up or accessing their device. The doubled "g" in the name is easy to miss at a glance. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-07. The site has been offline since 2026-09-16 after the hosting provider blocked its content, and it was still down when last checked on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

The page called itself "Ledger® Login | Getting Started™", with a trademark-heavy title that mimics official onboarding material. Ledger devices have no web login, so a page like this exists to collect whatever the visitor types into it. Pages in this scheme typically ask for the 24-word recovery phrase, presented as a sync, verification or restore step. Anyone holding that phrase can rebuild the wallet on their own device and empty it, and the hardware wallet offers no protection once the phrase is out.

Evidence

On 2026-09-17, 13 of 89 VirusTotal engines rated the site malicious. The flagging vendors included BitDefender, ESET, Kaspersky, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, CyRadar and alphaMountain.ai. That is a minority of engines, but it spans several major security vendors that reached the same verdict independently. urlscan.io also judged the page malicious and identified Ledger as the imitated brand. Beyond PhishDestroy, the domain sits on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists, which are both focused on crypto threats.

Infrastructure

The site was a free Cloudflare Pages subdomain created on 2026-08-07, about a month before PhishDestroy detected it. Free hosting like this lets an operator launch a page in minutes and replace it just as quickly once it is blocked. It was served from Cloudflare's network with a Canadian location. Its Google Trust Services certificate is standard for the platform, so the browser padlock showed only that the connection was encrypted, not that the site was genuine.

What to do

If you entered your recovery phrase here, treat that wallet as compromised. Set up a new wallet with a fresh phrase on your Ledger and move any remaining funds to it immediately. If you reused a password or email login on this page, change it everywhere you used it and turn on two-factor authentication. Remember that Ledger never asks for your recovery phrase on any website or app. Defenders should block the hostname and watch for lookalike Ledger subdomains on free hosting platforms, especially names with doubled or swapped letters.
