Overview

ledgerwalite-pages.pages.dev is a phishing page impersonating Ledger, the hardware wallet maker, aimed at people setting up or managing a Ledger device. It sat on a free Cloudflare Pages subdomain with the title "Ledger Hardware Wallet | Easy Setup & Strong Security" and a name blending "Ledger" and "wallet". PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-08-31. The site has been offline since 2026-09-11 and its content is blocked by the hosting provider, which was still the case when we rechecked on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

The title targets new owners with a promise of easy setup, the moment when people are most willing to follow on-screen instructions. Fake Ledger setup pages typically walk the visitor through a convincing onboarding flow, then ask them to type in their 24-word recovery phrase to verify or restore the device, or push a tampered copy of the Ledger companion app. A real Ledger device never needs its recovery phrase entered on a website. Anyone who submits it gives the attacker full control of every account derived from that phrase, and the funds can be moved out within minutes with no way to reverse the transfers.

Evidence

Wallet-security blocklists caught this page: it is listed by MetaMask and SEAL as well as PhishDestroy. MetaMask's listing means its users get a warning before the page loads. VirusTotal showed 0 detections across 89 engines on 2026-09-11, the same day the site went down. That clean result shows how brand-impersonation pages on trusted hosting slip past generic scanners, and why it should not be read as a sign of safety.

Infrastructure

The page ran on Cloudflare Pages, with the project dating to 2025-09-19, almost a year before PhishDestroy flagged it. It resolved to Cloudflare, Inc. address space geolocated to Canada. Free static hosting on a shared, reputable domain gives a phishing page instant HTTPS and a clean-looking address at no cost. That is a common choice for short-lived impersonation kits.

What to do

If you entered your recovery phrase on this site, treat that wallet as compromised. Set up a new device or wallet with a freshly generated phrase, then move any remaining funds to it immediately. Do not reuse the exposed phrase anywhere. If you installed software from the page, remove it and get Ledger Live only from Ledger's official site. Defenders should block the hostname and watch for lookalike Ledger subdomains on free hosting platforms, since this pattern is easy to redeploy under a new name.
