PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

ledgerr-livess.pages.dev is a phishing page that impersonates Ledger. Its doubled-letter name mimics Ledger Live, the companion app for Ledger hardware wallets, and it is aimed at people who keep crypto on those devices. PhishDestroy first saw it on 2026-08-31. The site has been offline since 2026-09-11 and was still dead when last checked on 2026-10-19, with its content blocked by the hosting provider.

How the scam works

Fake Ledger Live pages usually claim the wallet needs a sync, firmware fix or security check. They then ask the visitor to type in the 24-word recovery phrase. Anyone who holds that phrase can rebuild the wallet on their own device and empty it, and the hardware wallet offers no protection once the words are given away. The page title now reads "Suspected Phishing | Cloudflare", which is the provider's warning screen rather than Ledger branding, while we classify the underlying site as Ledger impersonation.

Evidence

On 2026-09-13, 11 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain. They include alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, Ermes, ESET, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, G-Data and Kaspersky. That is a modest share of engines, but it is spread across independent vendors. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict and identified Ledger as the targeted brand. Beyond PhishDestroy, the domain is listed on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists, which matters for crypto users because wallet software checks those lists.

Infrastructure

The site is a free subdomain on Cloudflare Pages, created on 2025-10-11. That is roughly ten and a half months before PhishDestroy detected it, so the project sat ready long before it was caught. It is served from Cloudflare, Inc. network space geolocated to Canada. Free hosting under a trusted platform domain lets operators launch lookalike pages cheaply and replace them quickly once they are taken down.

What to do

If you entered your recovery phrase on this site, treat the wallet as fully compromised. Set up a new wallet with a freshly generated phrase on your genuine Ledger and move any remaining funds there immediately. Ledger never asks for the recovery phrase on a website, by email or in a chat. If you only visited and typed nothing, no action is needed beyond ignoring future prompts that lead back here. Defenders should block the subdomain, watch for similar misspelled Ledger names on free hosting platforms, and report new variants to the hosting provider and wallet blocklists.
