PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

ledgerlivesktop.pages.dev is an impersonation phishing page built to pass as Ledger, the hardware wallet maker. The name is a misspelling of "Ledger Live desktop", the companion app Ledger owners install to manage their devices, so it targets people searching for that download. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-08-31. The site has been offline since 2026-09-11 and was still dead when last checked on 2026-10-19, with its content blocked by the hosting provider.

How the scam works

Fake Ledger Live pages usually offer a counterfeit app download or a supposed sync, update or recovery step. That step asks the visitor to type in the 24-word recovery phrase. Ledger never asks for that phrase online, and anyone who has it can rebuild the wallet on their own device and empty it. The victim loses every asset tied to that phrase, often without ever touching their physical device. The page now carries the title "Suspected Phishing | Cloudflare", which is Cloudflare's own warning interstitial rather than Ledger-branded content, while we classify the site as Ledger impersonation.

Evidence

urlscan.io rated the page malicious, and the only brand it detected was a generic Cloudflare template, which matches the warning interstitial. The domain sits on the PhishDestroy, MetaMask and SEAL blocklists, so wallet and security communities flagged it independently. VirusTotal tells a weaker story: none of its 89 engines flagged the domain on 2026-09-11. Users relying only on antivirus verdicts would have had no warning.

Infrastructure

The page was hosted as a free Cloudflare Pages subdomain, not on a domain the operator registered. Its creation date of 2025-09-23 is almost a year before PhishDestroy detected it. It resolved to Cloudflare's network, geolocated to Canada, which hides the operator's real server behind a shared platform. Throwaway subdomains like this cost nothing to make and are easy to replace once one gets blocked.

What to do

If you entered your recovery phrase on this site, treat it as compromised. Set up a new wallet with a fresh phrase on a genuine Ledger device and move your funds there immediately. If you downloaded any "Ledger Live" installer from it, delete the installer, run a full malware scan, and get the app again only from Ledger's official site. If you only browsed the page, no action is needed beyond avoiding it. Defenders should block the hostname and watch for similar Ledger-themed pages.dev subdomains. Report new variants to Cloudflare and to PhishDestroy.
