PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

ledgercom-starrt.pages.dev is an impersonation phishing page posing as Ledger, the hardware wallet maker. Its address mimics the official brand with a misspelled "start" setup path, which targets people setting up a new device. PhishDestroy first saw it on 2026-08-31. The site went offline on 2026-09-11 after its hosting provider blocked the content, and it was still dead when last checked on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Fake Ledger setup pages usually copy the onboarding flow and then claim the device needs to be restored, synced or verified. The visitor is asked to type in the 24-word recovery phrase. Anyone who does hands over full control of every account derived from that seed, and the attacker can empty the wallet from anywhere without touching the physical device. The page title now reads "Suspected Phishing | Cloudflare", which is the hosting provider's warning page and not Ledger branding. We classified the domain as Ledger impersonation phishing.

Evidence

On 2026-09-12, 6 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain: alphaMountain.ai, Emsisoft, Fortinet, LevelBlue, Netcraft and Webroot. That is a modest count, but it includes phishing-focused vendors such as Netcraft. The domain is also listed by MetaMask and the SEAL security alliance in addition to PhishDestroy, so wallet users relying on those protections should see a warning. The provider's own phishing interstitial independently supports the verdict.

Infrastructure

The pages.dev subdomain was created on 2025-10-08, almost eleven months before PhishDestroy detected it. Free static hosting like Cloudflare Pages lets an operator put up a convincing copy quickly and discard it once it is flagged. The site was served from Cloudflare, Inc. address space geolocated to Canada. It stayed reachable for only about eleven days after detection before the provider shut it down.

What to do

If you entered your Ledger recovery phrase on this site, treat that seed as compromised. Set up a new device or reset your current one with a freshly generated phrase, and move any remaining funds to the new addresses immediately. Ledger never asks for your 24 words on a website, in an app, or through support. If you only browsed the page without typing anything, no action is needed beyond avoiding it. Defenders should block the domain and watch for other pages.dev lookalikes built around Ledger "start" or setup themes.
