Overview

ledger-ive-dwnload.pages.dev is a phishing page impersonating Ledger, the hardware wallet maker. Its misspelled subdomain points at a "Ledger Live download", the kind of lure that reaches people searching for the official companion app. PhishDestroy first logged it on 2026-08-31. The site has been offline since 2026-09-11 and was still dead when last checked on 2026-10-19, with its content blocked by the hosting provider.

How the scam works

Fake Ledger download pages are built to separate hardware wallet owners from the one secret their device protects. The usual pattern is a page or bogus app that claims the wallet needs to be restored, updated or verified, then asks for the 24-word recovery phrase. Anyone who types those words gives the operator full control of every account the device secures, and the funds can be moved without the physical Ledger ever being touched. The page title now reads "Suspected Phishing | Cloudflare", which is the provider's own warning screen rather than the original Ledger-themed content we classified.

Evidence

Five of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain as of 2026-09-11: alphaMountain.ai, Emsisoft, Fortinet, Netcraft and Webroot. That count is modest, but it comes from independent vendors, and Netcraft in particular specializes in phishing takedowns. Beyond VirusTotal, the domain is on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists as well as PhishDestroy's. Wallet-focused lists like these tend to catch crypto lures that general-purpose engines miss.

Infrastructure

The page lived on a free Cloudflare Pages subdomain. This hosting needs no domain registration and lets an operator spin up a convincing brand-like address in minutes. Traffic resolved to Cloudflare, Inc. infrastructure geolocated to Canada. Cloudflare's own block is what took the content down, about eleven days after PhishDestroy first saw it.

What to do

If you entered your Ledger recovery phrase on this site or into any app downloaded from it, treat the wallet as compromised. Set up a new device or a fresh seed and move any remaining funds immediately. Uninstall any software obtained there and only install Ledger Live from Ledger's official website. A genuine Ledger process never asks you to type your 24 words into a computer or phone. Defenders should block the domain and watch for similar lookalike subdomains on free hosting platforms that use Ledger branding.
