PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

This Cloudflare Pages subdomain posed as Ledger. The doubled hyphens and the "live" and "eng-en" labels are meant to suggest an official English-language Ledger Live download or support page. It targeted people who own Ledger hardware wallets. PhishDestroy first saw it on 2026-09-01. The site has been offline since 2026-09-11, and as of 2026-10-19 its content remains blocked by the hosting provider.

How the scam works

Fake Ledger Live pages usually warn the visitor about a security issue, firmware update or account sync. They then send the visitor to a form that asks for the 24-word recovery phrase, or they offer a tampered app that asks for it. Ledger never asks for that phrase online. Anyone who has it can rebuild the wallet on their own device and empty every account it controls, and that theft cannot be reversed. The page title now reads "Suspected Phishing | Cloudflare", which is the provider's warning interstitial, while we classified the original content as a Ledger impersonation.

Evidence

On 2026-09-13, 13 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain. They include BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, G-Data, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, alphaMountain.ai, CyRadar and Ermes, a mix of major antivirus vendors and specialised URL classifiers. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict. The domain is also listed on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists alongside PhishDestroy, so wallet software and crypto security teams flagged it independently. Cloudflare's own block confirms the hosting provider judged the content harmful.

Infrastructure

The page ran on Cloudflare Pages, a free static hosting service. Phishers use it for disposable subdomains that borrow the reputation of a well-known parent domain. The registration date on record is 2025-10-28, about ten months before PhishDestroy flagged it. It resolved to Cloudflare, Inc. infrastructure geolocated in Canada. Because the parent domain is shared by countless legitimate sites, blocking must target this exact subdomain.

What to do

If you typed your recovery phrase into this page or a program it supplied, treat the wallet as compromised. Reset your Ledger, generate a new phrase and move any remaining funds immediately. Delete any Ledger Live installer obtained from this site, and get the app only from Ledger's official channels. If you connected a software wallet here, review and revoke any token approvals you granted. Defenders should block this specific subdomain and watch for similarly hyphenated Ledger lookalikes appearing on pages.dev.
