PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

know-wallet-ledgr.pages.dev posed as the official Ledger site under the title "Ledger Wallet | All-in-One Crypto Management". It targeted owners of Ledger hardware wallets and Ledger's companion app. The misspelled "ledgr" in the subdomain is a deliberate lookalike meant to survive a quick glance. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-07. The hosting provider has since blocked the content, and the site has been offline since 2026-09-16, still dead at the last check on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Ledger impersonation pages copy the brand's look and wording, then steer visitors toward a fake "verification", "sync" or "wallet recovery" step. That step typically asks for the 24-word recovery phrase or prompts the visitor to connect a wallet. Anyone who types the recovery phrase gives the attacker full control of every account derived from it, and the funds can be swept within minutes. The page title borrows Ledger's own product language so the request feels like routine account maintenance.

Evidence

On 2026-09-17, 13 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain, including BitDefender, ESET, Kaspersky, Fortinet, G-Data, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, alphaMountain.ai and CyRadar. That spread of established vendors backs the classification beyond any single source. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict and specifically recognised Ledger branding on the page. The domain also appears on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists alongside PhishDestroy, so many wallet users were warned before reaching it.

Infrastructure

The site was created on 2026-08-15, about three weeks before PhishDestroy detected it. That is a short lifespan typical of disposable phishing pages. It ran as a free subdomain on Cloudflare Pages, served through Cloudflare's network with a Canadian location, so it carried a valid certificate and a reputable-looking hostname from the start. Free static hosting like this lets operators spin up new lookalikes quickly once one is blocked.

What to do

If you entered your recovery phrase on this site, treat that wallet as compromised. Set up a new device or reset your Ledger with a brand-new phrase, then move any remaining assets to it immediately. If you connected a wallet, review and revoke token approvals you do not recognise. Ledger never asks for your recovery phrase on any website or in any app. Defenders should block this subdomain and watch for similar Ledger-themed names on free hosting platforms.
