PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

imtokeniee.com hosts a fake imToken wallet page that pretends to be an official Ethereum and Bitcoin wallet interface. The page is aimed at users of the imToken app and anyone holding Ethereum or Bitcoin. PhishDestroy first recorded the site on 2026-10-19 and the page was still reachable but its content was reported as unreachable on that date.

How the scam works

The page title reads "imToken | Ethereum & Bitcoin Wallet," luring visitors into believing they are on a legitimate wallet site. Victims are prompted to enter seed phrases, private keys, or to connect their wallet and approve transactions. Once the attacker obtains these credentials or approvals, they can drain funds or execute unauthorized transfers from the compromised wallets.

Evidence

VirusTotal flagged the domain in 16 of 92 scanning engines, including detections from alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, DNS8, Ermes, Emsisoft, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet and G-Data. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict and identified the brand "imtoken" in the page content. The domain is listed on PhishDestroy's blocklist and appears in four OTX pulses, reinforcing its malicious reputation.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-10-17 through GMO Internet Group, Inc. d/b/a Onamae.com, giving the operators only two days before PhishDestroy first saw the site. Hosting is provided by Cloudflare (AS13335) in the United States, using IP address 188.114.97.3. The TLS certificate is issued by Let’s Encrypt / YE2, indicating a standard free SSL deployment rather than a custom or self‑signed certificate.
