PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

ibdssonline.com is a phishing site that imitated DBS Bank's private banking service. It was titled "DBS Private Bank" to target wealthy clients who expect a premium, exclusive login experience. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-27, one day after the domain was registered. The site has been offline since 2026-10-01, and on 2026-10-19 the hosting provider was still blocking its content.

How the scam works

Victims usually reach a page like this through a link in an email, SMS or chat message warning about account activity or a pending private banking matter. The page copies DBS branding and asks for the client's username and password, and often for one-time codes as well. Anything typed is sent to the operators, who can use it to log into the real account and attempt transfers before the client notices. The domain name itself, a jumble of letters around "online", is the kind of near-miss address meant to pass a quick glance.

Evidence

On 2026-09-29, 13 of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain. Named detections include alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Ermes, Emsisoft, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, Gridinsoft and MalwareURL. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict and recognized DBS Bank branding on the page, which confirms what it was impersonating. The domain also appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses and on the PhishDestroy blocklist.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through Name.com, Inc. on 2026-09-26 and was serving the phishing page within a day. That quick turnaround is typical of throwaway domains built for a short campaign. It was hosted on Amazon.com, Inc. network space in the US at 216.198.79.1. Its Let's Encrypt certificate gave visitors a browser padlock, which proves only that the connection was encrypted, not that the site belonged to DBS.

What to do

If you entered DBS login details on this site, contact DBS through the number on your card or the official app right away. Change your password and review recent transactions and payees. If you entered a one-time code, tell the bank so it can check for unauthorized logins or transfers. Treat any follow-up calls or messages "from DBS" with suspicion, and always reach the bank by typing its address yourself. Security teams should block the domain and its IP, search mail and proxy logs for earlier visits, and warn private banking clients about lookalike login domains.
