PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

freetiktokcoins.com is an impersonation phishing site built around the promise of free TikTok coins, the in-app currency used to tip and gift creators. It targets TikTok users, especially younger and creator-adjacent audiences who want coins without paying. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-07. As of 2026-10-19 the domain was still alive and redirecting visitors elsewhere.

How the scam works

Free-coins pages follow a familiar pattern. The visitor is asked for a TikTok username, then often a password or login code to "deliver" the coins. A fake "human verification" step may push them toward surveys, app installs or small payments. No coins ever arrive. The real losses are a hijacked TikTok account, reused passwords exposed elsewhere, and any money or personal details handed over during the verification step. The page title currently served is a Chinese free-novel and e-book site name (八零电子书), which does not match the TikTok theme of the domain. We classify the domain itself as TikTok impersonation.

Evidence

On VirusTotal, 4 of 92 engines flag the domain as of 2026-10-19: CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft and SOCRadar. That is a low count, so many browsers and filters will not yet warn users. The domain appears in 4 AlienVault OTX threat pulses, which shows other researchers are tracking it independently. Among blocklists, it currently appears only on PhishDestroy's.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-03-27 through Spaceship, Inc., roughly six months before PhishDestroy detected it. A gap that long suggests a domain held in reserve or reused rather than spun up the day of a campaign. Traffic passes through Cloudflare (AS13335, US), which hides the true origin server. Because the site is still redirecting, its destination can change at any time.

What to do

If you entered your TikTok password or a login code here, change the password right away and do the same on any other account that shares it. Turn on two-step verification in TikTok's security settings, then log out all other devices. If you paid a "verification" fee or entered card details, contact your bank to dispute the charge and watch for follow-up scams. Security teams should block the domain and its redirect targets. They should also search proxy logs for visits since 2026-10-07 and report it to TikTok as brand impersonation.
