PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

fortnitevalue.my posed as a fan utility called "Fortnite Rank & Locker Value Checker – Free Tool" and used the Fortnite name to reach players curious about what their skins and rank are worth. PhishDestroy classifies it as an impersonation phishing page and first flagged it on 2026-10-07. The site is now dead. Its DNS stopped resolving on 2026-10-16, and it was still offline at our check on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Locker value checkers work as bait because players want to see a price tag on cosmetics they have collected over years. A scheme like this typically asks the visitor to sign in with their game account, or to hand over login details and verification codes, so the tool can supposedly read the locker. Those credentials go to the operator, who can take over the account and strip it, resell it, or use the linked payment methods and stored currency. Players who reuse that password elsewhere put their other accounts at risk too.

Evidence

Seven of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain at the 2026-10-11 scan: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, Gridinsoft, LevelBlue and SOCRadar. That is a modest count, but it comes from seven independent vendors within days of our listing. Spamhaus lists the domain on its DBL as spam. Three AlienVault OTX pulses reference it, which means other researchers tracked it separately.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-09-21 through Gname.com Pte. Ltd., just 16 days before PhishDestroy caught it. That short gap is typical of a throwaway lure built for a quick campaign. It was hosted on the M/S ROBI TRADERS network in Turkey. It used a free Let's Encrypt certificate, so the padlock in the browser showed only an encrypted connection, not a legitimate site.

What to do

If you signed in or typed your Fortnite or Epic credentials on this site, change that password immediately from the official site or app. Turn on two-factor authentication and sign out all other sessions. Check your purchase history and linked payment methods for activity you don't recognise, and change the password anywhere else you used it. Remember that genuine value checkers never need your password or a verification code. Security teams should block the domain, look for past traffic to it in proxy and DNS logs, and watch for look-alike Fortnite value tool domains registered the same way.
