PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

fortlocker.vip is an impersonation phishing page that copies the look of a legitimate service to trick crypto users into trusting it. PhishDestroy first detected it on 2026-09-19. As of 2026-10-19 the host still answers, but its DNS no longer delivers the phishing content. When last loaded, the page title read "403 · Forbidden — SilkGuard," which is an access-denied error rather than a branded login page, while our classification is impersonation phishing.

How the scam works

Impersonation sites like this one copy the branding, layout and wording of a service the victim already uses. Links in messages, ads or social posts send people to the fake page. There they are asked to sign in, verify an account or restore a wallet, and anything they type goes straight to the operators. Depending on what is entered, victims can lose account access, personal data, or the full contents of a wallet if a recovery phrase is handed over.

Evidence

Eight of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain at the 2026-09-29 check: alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, Gridinsoft, Kaspersky and SOCRadar. That is a minority of engines, but several of them are major security vendors that reached the same verdict independently. Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL as a spam source, and it appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses. The PhishDestroy blocklist includes it as well.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-08-30 through Gname.com Pte. Ltd. Only 20 days passed before we caught it, a short gap typical of throwaway phishing domains set up for a single campaign. It is hosted on the UFO TECHNOLOGIES LIMITED network in Great Britain. The cheap .vip extension and the brand-neutral name "fortlocker" suggest the domain is meant to look like a secure storage or vault service.

What to do

If you entered a password on this site, change it at once on the real service and on any account that shares it, then turn on app-based two-factor authentication. If you typed a wallet recovery phrase, treat that wallet as compromised: create a new wallet on a clean device and move any remaining funds to it right away. Report the link wherever you received it. Defenders should block fortlocker.vip at DNS and proxy level and search mail and web logs for users who visited it after 2026-08-30.
