Overview

fortinvcheck.com presents itself as "Fortnite Inventory & Account Value Checker – Free Tool | FortINVCheck". It is an impersonation phishing page built around Epic Games, aimed at Fortnite players curious about what their skins and account are worth. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-16. It was still online and serving live content on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Account-value checkers are a common lure in gaming phishing. The site promises a free estimate of your locker, then asks you to sign in with your Epic Games account to "verify" it. Anything typed into that login goes to the operators, not to Epic. A stolen Epic account can be emptied of V-Bucks, its rare cosmetics resold, and any linked payment method or connected console accounts abused. Victims often lose access entirely once the attacker changes the email and password.

Evidence

urlscan.io rated the page malicious and recognised Epic Games branding on it, which matches our classification. On 2026-09-30, 7 of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain: alphaMountain.ai, Bfore.Ai PreCrime, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, Gridinsoft, LevelBlue and SOCRadar. That count is modest, so many browsers and security tools will still let the page load without a warning. Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL as spam. It also appears in 4 AlienVault OTX threat pulses.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-09-05 through Gname.com Pte. Ltd. and was caught 11 days later, a short lifespan typical of throwaway phishing domains. It is hosted on the M/S ROBI TRADERS network in Turkey. The Let's Encrypt certificate only means the connection is encrypted; the padlock says nothing about whether the site is legitimate.

What to do

If you entered Epic Games credentials here, change your Epic password immediately from the official Epic site and use a new one you do not reuse anywhere. Turn on two-factor authentication, sign out of all sessions, and check that your account email, linked consoles and payment methods have not been changed. Contact Epic support right away if purchases, gifts or locker items look wrong. If you reused that password elsewhere, change it on those services too. Defenders and parents should block fortinvcheck.com at DNS and proxy level. They should also warn younger players that Epic never needs a third-party site to value an account.
