PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

fn-stats.com is an impersonation phishing site whose name is built to look like a statistics lookup service. It aims to borrow the trust of a legitimate brand so visitors hand over details they would normally guard. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-06, and as of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving live content.

How the scam works

Impersonation pages copy the look, wording or name of a familiar service and then ask visitors to log in, verify an account or claim something. Whatever is typed into the fake form goes straight to the operators, who use it to take over the real account or resell the credentials. Here the page title reads only "Loading" rather than naming any brand, while we classify the site as impersonation phishing. The victim's loss is control of the account the page imitates, along with any personal information entered.

Evidence

On 2026-10-10, 6 of 92 VirusTotal engines marked the domain as malicious: alphaMountain.ai, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, Gridinsoft, LevelBlue and SOCRadar. That is a modest count, but it comes from six unrelated vendors, which makes it hard to dismiss as a single false positive. Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL as a spam domain, which indicates it is being pushed through unsolicited messages. It also appears on the PhishDestroy blocklist.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-07-15 through Global Domain Group LLC, about 83 days before we detected it. That gap suggests it was held in reserve before being put to use. It is hosted in Finland on AS132359 (M/S ROBI TRADERS). It carries a free Let's Encrypt certificate, so the padlock in the browser only means the connection is encrypted, not that the site is genuine.

What to do

If you entered a username and password on fn-stats.com, change that password on the real service right away, plus anywhere else you reuse it. Turn on two-factor authentication, and review active sessions and recovery email or phone settings for changes you did not make. Treat follow-up messages that reference this site as further phishing attempts. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and the mail gateway, and search mail logs for links to it, since its Spamhaus listing points to email-borne delivery.
