PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

flourishing-marzipan-b0969f.netlify.app was a credential phishing page that imitated the sign-in screen of Dana, the digital wallet, to capture account access from its users. PhishDestroy first saw it on 2026-08-31. The site went offline on 2026-09-09 and still returned no content when last checked on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

The page carried the bare title "SignIn" and presented itself as a Dana login prompt. Victims usually arrive through a message or link urging them to verify, unlock or claim something in their wallet. Whatever they type, such as a phone number, PIN or one-time code, goes straight to the operators. With those details the attacker can sign into the real Dana account and move the balance before the owner notices.

Evidence

Within two days of our first sighting, 18 of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the site as of 2026-09-02, including BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Emsisoft, CyRadar and alphaMountain.ai. Google Safe Browsing listed it for social engineering, which triggers warnings in mainstream browsers. urlscan.io rated the page malicious and recognised Dana branding on it, matching our classification. The domain is on the PhishDestroy blocklist.

Infrastructure

The operators did not register a domain of their own. They used a randomly named subdomain on Netlify's free hosting platform, which costs nothing to create and borrows the reputation of a well-known service. Traffic resolved to Amazon infrastructure in Germany. The DigiCert certificate is the platform's standard one, so the padlock in the address bar said nothing about whether the page was genuine. The page was live for about nine days, from first sighting to going offline.

What to do

If you entered details on this page, open the official Dana app directly and change your PIN or password at once. Contact Dana support to report the compromise and ask them to review recent logins and transactions. Never share one-time codes sent by SMS, since a phished account is often followed by calls or messages asking for them. Review your transaction history for transfers you did not make. Defenders should block the hostname, look in mail and messaging logs for links to netlify.app subdomains that use Dana branding, and report new copies to Netlify and Dana.
