PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

family-ledger-497.pages.dev is a phishing page that impersonates Ledger, the hardware wallet maker, and targets people who keep crypto on Ledger devices. PhishDestroy first saw it on 2026-09-08. The site has been offline since 2026-09-16 because the hosting provider blocked its content, and it was still down when last checked on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Ledger impersonation pages usually copy the look of Ledger Live or a support portal. They warn about a fake security issue, firmware update or wallet sync problem and then ask for the 24-word recovery phrase. Anyone who types that phrase gives the attacker full control of the wallet, and the funds can be moved out with no device needed. The page title reads "가계부", Korean for "household account book", which does not match the Ledger branding we classified. The domain name plays on the same everyday meaning of the word "ledger".

Evidence

Independent detection was thin. When VirusTotal checked the site on 2026-09-18, only 2 of 89 engines flagged it: alphaMountain.ai and Forcepoint ThreatSeeker. Most security tools would have let a visitor through. Wallet-focused blocklists did catch it. Besides PhishDestroy, the site appears on the MetaMask and SEAL lists, so users of those protections would have been warned.

Infrastructure

The site was created on Cloudflare Pages on 2026-08-31, eight days before PhishDestroy detected it. It was taken offline about two weeks after going live. It ran on Cloudflare's network, with the serving address placed in Canada. The pages.dev subdomain came with an automatically issued certificate from Google Trust Services, so the padlock in the browser said nothing about whether the site was legitimate.

What to do

If you entered your Ledger recovery phrase on this site, treat that wallet as compromised. Set up the device again with a new phrase and move any remaining funds to the new accounts right away. Ledger never asks for your recovery phrase on a website, by email or in a chat. If you only connected a software wallet, review and revoke any token approvals you do not recognize. Defenders should block the domain and watch for similar pages.dev subdomains that pair "ledger" with harmless-sounding words.
