PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

dapps-phase2firelight.com is an impersonation phishing site dressed up as a decentralized-app "phase 2" portal. It presents itself as a "Contact Verification Suspension Page" to convince crypto users that their access is on hold until they complete a check. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-11. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving its phishing content.

How the scam works

The page title follows a familiar pressure script: your account or eligibility has been suspended, and you must verify to restore it. urlscan.io matched the page to a generic Cloudflare-style layout, a common way to make a phishing page look like a routine security check. Pages like this usually push the visitor to connect a wallet and sign what looks like a verification request. That signature can be a token approval or transfer that lets the operator empty the wallet. Some variants ask for a recovery phrase instead, which hands over the wallet outright.

Evidence

On 2026-10-12, 14 of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain. They include ChainPatrol, alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, CRDF, CyRadar, ESET, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker and Fortinet, a mix of crypto-focused and mainstream security vendors. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict. The domain sits on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists alongside PhishDestroy, so wallet users with those protections should get a warning. It also appears in two AlienVault OTX threat pulses.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through Key-Systems GmbH on 2026-09-23, just 18 days before PhishDestroy caught it. That short gap fits a disposable domain set up for a single campaign. The site runs on OVH SAS servers in Germany.

What to do

If you connected a wallet and signed anything on this site, use a token-approval checker to revoke permissions you don't recognize. Move any remaining assets to a fresh wallet. If you typed in a seed phrase or private key, treat that wallet as compromised and transfer funds to a new one created from a new phrase right away. No genuine dApp suspends access over "contact verification" or asks for your recovery phrase. Defenders should block the domain and its hosting IP, and watch for lookalike "dapps-phase" domains used in the same lure.
