PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

cross-binance.com.cn is an impersonation phishing domain that borrows the Binance name to target users of the exchange and crypto traders in general. PhishDestroy first detected it on 2026-10-16, the same day it was registered. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving live content. The page title currently reads "恭喜，站点创建成功！" ("Congratulations, site created successfully!"), a generic hosting placeholder, while we classify the domain as Binance impersonation.

How the scam works

Exchange impersonation schemes register a domain that pairs a trusted brand with a generic word, here "cross", so it looks like an official Binance service or regional site. Victims usually arrive through ads, social media messages or fake support contacts and are shown a copy of the Binance login or verification flow. Anything typed there, including email, password, SMS or authenticator codes, and sometimes identity documents, goes straight to the operators. They use it to log in to the real account, disable protections and withdraw funds before the owner notices.

Evidence

On VirusTotal, 1 of 92 engines flagged the domain at the 2026-10-16 check, with LevelBlue as the only detecting vendor. Antivirus coverage is therefore still thin, which is common for freshly registered phishing domains. The classification is supported by listings on the PhishDestroy, MetaMask and SEAL blocklists, and the domain appears in 2 AlienVault OTX threat pulses.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-10-16 through 北京新网数码信息技术有限公司 under the Chinese .com.cn namespace. It resolves to 168.222.65.180 on the HKISP-AS-AP network operated by OWGELS INTERNATIONAL CO., LIMITED in Hong Kong. Its TLS certificate was issued by TrustAsia Technologies, Inc. through LiteSSL RSA CA 2025, so the padlock icon says nothing about whether the site is legitimate.
