PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

crestforlding.org is an impersonation phishing page that uses Bitcoin's name to pass itself off as a crypto investment service. It targets people searching for ways to invest in Bitcoin or Ethereum. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-12. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving its content.

How the scam works

The page title, "Welcome | Crestforlding | Bitcoin Investment | Cryptocurrency Investment | Etherium Investment," pitches an investment platform, and we classify the site as Bitcoin impersonation phishing. The misspelled "Etherium" is a common sign of hastily built scam sites. Schemes of this kind borrow Bitcoin's credibility to make an unknown brand look established. They typically ask visitors to open an account, deposit crypto into a "managed" plan, and watch a dashboard of invented gains. Money sent to such a platform goes straight to the operators. Requests for extra "fees" or "taxes" to unlock a withdrawal are simply a second round of theft.

Evidence

On 2026-09-22, nine of 89 VirusTotal engines marked the domain as malicious. The flagging vendors included Kaspersky, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Gridinsoft, SOCRadar and VIPRE. Spamhaus lists it on its Domain Block List as spam, so mail filters relying on the DBL should reject messages that promote it. The domain also appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses. Several separate research teams have tracked it, which backs our classification.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-09-10 through TuringSign Inc. d/b/a Cosmotown, just two days before PhishDestroy detected it. That short gap fits a site built for immediate use rather than a long-running business. It resolves to 163.61.188.5 on the NEW DHAKA HARDWARE network, located in the US. Its Let's Encrypt certificate gives it a browser padlock, but the padlock says nothing about whether the operator can be trusted.

What to do

Do not deposit anything, and if you already have, stop. Ignore any request for a "withdrawal fee" or "verification payment," because paying it will not release your money. Save your transaction IDs and screenshots and report the theft to your local police or fraud authority. If you used the same password here as anywhere else, change it on those accounts and turn on two-factor authentication. Watch out for "recovery" offers, which often come from the same scammers. Defenders should block crestforlding.org and its IP at the DNS and proxy level, and flag mail that references the domain.
