PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

cashmerelabs.exchange is an impersonation phishing page dressed up as Cashmere Labs, presenting itself as "Cashmere Labs | Swap Now — Cross-Chain Crypto Swap." It targets DeFi users who want to move tokens between chains and who may land on a look-alike domain through ads, search results or social posts. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-08-28. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving its content.

How the scam works

Phishing pages that copy a cross-chain swap typically mirror the real interface and then ask the visitor to connect a wallet to start a swap. The malicious step comes when the victim signs what looks like a routine swap or approval. Pages like this usually request token allowances or signatures that let the operator move funds out of the wallet. Because cross-chain swaps involve several steps and unfamiliar prompts, victims may approve requests they would otherwise question, and can lose any tokens the signature covers.

Evidence

Security vendors broadly agree on this site. On 2026-09-12, 16 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged it, including BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, CyRadar and Chong Lua Dao. The crypto-specific defenses matter most for wallet users: MetaMask, ScamSniffer and SEAL all list it, so many wallets and browser extensions should warn before a connection. Spamhaus classifies the domain as DBL_PHISH, and it appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-08-19 through Global Domain Group LLC. It was flagged nine days later, a short gap that fits a site built for a quick phishing campaign. The site sits behind Cloudflare, Inc., which hides the true origin server, and the network location resolves to Canada. The .exchange extension was likely chosen to make the address read like a legitimate trading service.

What to do

If you connected a wallet and signed anything on cashmerelabs.exchange, use a token approval checker right away to revoke every allowance granted to unfamiliar contracts. Then move your remaining assets to a fresh wallet. If you ever typed a seed phrase into the site, treat that wallet as fully compromised and stop using it. Reach Cashmere Labs only through links you have verified yourself, never through ads or direct messages. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and proxy level, add it to wallet-security and email filters, and report it to Cloudflare so it can be taken down.
