Overview

bertswap.org presents itself as a cross-chain swap platform for XRP and XRPL tokens under the name BertSwap. It targets holders of XRP and XRPL-based assets who are looking to bridge or swap tokens across chains. PhishDestroy first identified it on 2026-09-17, and as of 2026-10-18 the site remains fully live and serving active content.

How the scam works

Seed phrase theft pages mimic legitimate DeFi or swap interfaces to trick users into entering their wallet recovery phrase, typically under the pretense of connecting a wallet, resolving an error, or completing a transaction. Once the victim submits their 12- or 24-word seed phrase, the attacker gains complete and permanent control of every wallet derived from it, draining all assets immediately. The page title — BertSwap — Swap XRP & XRPL Tokens to Any Chain — frames the site as a functional cross-chain service, which is consistent with the seed phrase theft classification in that it provides a plausible reason for users to interact with a wallet prompt.
