PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

bag-promo.com is classified by PhishDestroy as an impersonation phishing page. It borrows the look and authority of a legitimate service to lure visitors into handing over credentials or personal details. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-12. As of 2026-10-19 the site is still online, with its content sitting behind protective filtering.

How the scam works

Impersonation pages copy a trusted brand's design and wording, and the promo-themed domain fits the usual bait of a reward, giveaway or limited offer. The visitor is then pushed to sign in, verify an account or submit details to claim it. Whatever is typed goes straight to the operators, who can take over the account, resell the data or reuse it in further fraud. The page title currently reads "500 Internal Server Error," while our classification is impersonation phishing.

Evidence

On 2026-09-20, 19 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain, including ADMINUSLabs, alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, Chong Lua Dao, CyRadar, ESET, Emsisoft and Forcepoint ThreatSeeker. That is a sizable minority, and it spans independent reputation feeds and major antivirus vendors. Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL under the phishing category, which affects mail filtering across many networks. The domain also appears in five AlienVault OTX threat pulses and on the PhishDestroy blocklist.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through Name.com, Inc. on 2026-03-07, about six months before PhishDestroy detected it. That gap is consistent with a domain held in reserve before it was put to use. Traffic passes through Cloudflare, Inc. on an address geolocated to Canada, so the real origin server is hidden. A free Let's Encrypt certificate supplies the browser padlock, and that padlock says nothing about whether the site is honest.

What to do

If you entered a password on this site, change it right away on the genuine service and on any account that shares it. Then turn on app-based two-factor authentication and sign out of all active sessions. If you submitted payment card details, contact your card issuer. If you entered a wallet recovery phrase, treat that wallet as compromised and move your funds to a new one. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and mail gateways, use the Spamhaus DBL_PHISH listing for filtering, and search logs for users who visited it after 2026-09-12.
