PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

atwateratelierco.shop is a fraudulent storefront branded as "Atwater Atelier," a boutique-style name built to look like a small independent fashion or homeware label. It targets online shoppers who arrive through ads or social media and see what looks like a curated store with attractive prices. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-07. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving its shop content.

How the scam works

The page presents itself as "Atwater Atelier | Atwater," with product listings, a cart and a checkout, which is enough to pass a quick glance. Shoppers who place an order hand over their name, delivery address and payment card details and are charged for the purchase. Fake shops like this usually ship nothing, or send a cheap item unrelated to the order, and stop responding once the money has cleared. The card data and personal details collected at checkout can also be reused for further fraud.

Evidence

VirusTotal scanned the domain on 2026-10-11 and 10 of 92 engines flagged it. They include BitDefender, ESET, G-Data, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft, LevelBlue, alphaMountain.ai and Bfore.Ai PreCrime, a spread of established antivirus and predictive-threat vendors. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict and specifically identified the page as a fake shop. The domain also appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses, so other researchers have tracked it independently.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-03-26 through Spaceship, Inc., roughly six months before PhishDestroy detected it. That gap suggests it was either kept in reserve or ran quietly before drawing attention. The site is hosted on the Malakmadze Web LLC network in Georgia. It uses a free Let's Encrypt certificate, so the browser padlock only means the connection is encrypted and says nothing about whether the shop is genuine.

What to do

If you paid on this site, contact your card issuer or bank right away, report the transaction as fraud and request a chargeback. Ask whether the card should be replaced, and watch your statements for unfamiliar charges. Be wary of follow-up emails or messages about your "order" or "refund," since these often lead to further theft. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and web proxies and add it to brand-impersonation and ad-abuse filters. They should also check payment and email logs for users who interacted with it.
