PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

atlas-crest.org is an impersonation phishing site that copies the identity of a trusted service to deceive visitors. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-24. When last checked on 2026-10-19, the domain was still online, with its content behind a protective interstitial. The page title reads "Nur einen Moment…", which is German for "Just a moment…". That points toward German-speaking visitors, although the title itself does not show which brand is being imitated.

How the scam works

Impersonation pages rely on borrowed trust. They mimic the look, wording and flow of a real service so visitors act without checking the address bar. A typical version asks the victim to sign in, verify an account or confirm a payment. Whatever is typed in goes straight to the operators, who can then take over accounts, reuse the details elsewhere or ask for money under the brand's name. The visible title is a generic German loading message rather than a branded login screen, while our classification is based on the site acting as an impersonation phishing page.

Evidence

Twelve of 92 VirusTotal engines marked the domain as malicious or phishing on 2026-10-07. The flagging vendors include alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, CRDF, CyRadar, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, G-Data and Gridinsoft. These are independent vendors from different parts of the security industry, so the agreement is meaningful, even though most engines had not yet flagged it. The domain also appears in three AlienVault OTX threat pulses, and PhishDestroy lists it on its blocklist.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-05-07, about 140 days before PhishDestroy detected it. A long quiet period like this can help a domain look less suspicious when it finally goes live. It was registered through Cloudflare, Inc. and resolves to Cloudflare's network at 104.21.24.253, geolocated to Canada, which places the real origin server behind a proxy. Its Let's Encrypt certificate is free and automatically issued, so the padlock in the browser says nothing about whether the site is legitimate.

What to do

If you entered a password on atlas-crest.org, change it right away on the real service and anywhere else you use it. Then turn on two-factor authentication and sign out of all active sessions. If you shared card or bank details, contact your bank to block the card and dispute any charges. Watch for follow-up emails or calls that use the same brand name. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and proxy level, search mail and web logs for any visits, and report it to Cloudflare's abuse channel.
