PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

arcat.online presents itself as "ARCAT - First Memecoin on Arc Chain". It uses the buzz around the Arc Chain ecosystem to lure memecoin hunters who want to get in early on a new token. PhishDestroy classifies it as an impersonation phishing page and first flagged it on 2026-09-02. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving its content, so it remains a live risk.

How the scam works

Fake "first memecoin" launch pages trade on fear of missing out. They promise early access to a token tied to a trending chain, then push visitors to act fast. The usual step is connecting a wallet or sending funds for a presale or claim. Once a wallet is connected, the victim may be asked to sign approvals or transactions that hand control of tokens to the operators. Funds sent to a presale address simply disappear. Either way, there is no real token to receive, and transfers on-chain cannot be reversed.

Evidence

On 2026-09-12, 10 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain. They include alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, G-Data, Gridinsoft and Kaspersky. That is a modest count, but the vendors are varied and independent. Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL under the phishing category, and it appears in five AlienVault OTX threat pulses. It is also on the PhishDestroy blocklist.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through NameCheap, Inc. on 2026-08-11, just 22 days before PhishDestroy detected it. That short gap is typical of throwaway domains spun up for a single campaign. It resolves to Cloudflare (AS13335) in the US, and that proxy hides the server actually hosting the page.

What to do

Do not connect a wallet to arcat.online or send it any funds. If you already connected, open a token-approval checker for the relevant chain and revoke any permissions granted to unfamiliar contracts. Move remaining assets to a fresh wallet if you signed anything you did not fully understand. Never share a seed phrase; any site asking for it is stealing it. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and proxy level and watch for lookalike Arc Chain memecoin domains. Report sightings to Cloudflare and NameCheap so the page can be taken down.
