PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

aidrops.fun is an impersonation phishing domain whose name evokes crypto airdrops, the free-token giveaways that reliably draw wallet users. PhishDestroy first saw it on 2026-09-03, the same day it was registered. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving content. The page currently shows the title "Index of /", a bare directory listing, while our classification is impersonation phishing.

How the scam works

Airdrop-themed impersonation sites copy the look and wording of a real project or wallet and promise a token claim or reward. The visitor is pushed to connect a wallet and approve a transaction or signature to "claim". That approval can hand spending rights over tokens or NFTs to the operator. Some variants instead ask for a seed phrase to "verify eligibility". Either way, the victim can lose the wallet's assets, often within minutes and with no way to reverse the transfers.

Evidence

Eight of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain as of 2026-09-16: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, CyRadar, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, Gridinsoft, SOCRadar and VIPRE. That is a modest count, but it comes from unrelated vendors. The wallet-security community has also acted: MetaMask and SEAL both list the domain alongside PhishDestroy. Spamhaus classifies it as DBL_PHISH, and it appears in three AlienVault OTX threat pulses.

Infrastructure

The domain went from registration to detection within a single day, which fits a domain bought specifically for a campaign rather than an established site that was later compromised. It was registered through NICENIC INTERNATIONAL GROUP CO., LIMITED and is hosted on the Ultahost, Inc. network in the Netherlands. More than six weeks after first detection, it was still resolving and serving content.

What to do

If you connected a wallet to aidrops.fun, review and revoke the token and NFT approvals you granted in that session using a trusted approval checker. If you typed a seed phrase or private key anywhere on the site, treat the wallet as compromised and move any remaining assets to a newly created wallet immediately. Do not sign further "claim" or "verification" prompts linked to this domain. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and proxy level, add it to wallet and browser warning lists, and search logs for internal users who visited it.
