PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

885068.app is an impersonation phishing page that presents itself under the Chinese title "138搜索" ("138 Search"). The site borrows the look of a familiar service to win trust from visitors, and its listing by both MetaMask and SEAL points to crypto wallet users as a target audience. PhishDestroy first saw it on 2026-10-04. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving its content. The title suggests a search portal, while we classify the domain as impersonation phishing.

How the scam works

Impersonation pages copy the name and appearance of a service people already use, so that visitors act without checking the address. Once a visitor trusts the page, it asks them to log in, enter personal details, or connect a crypto wallet, depending on what the operators want to collect. Anything typed into the page goes to the scammers. A wallet connection can be used to request signatures or approvals that move funds out. The Chinese "138搜索" branding indicates the page is aimed at Chinese-speaking users.

Evidence

Nine of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain as of 2026-10-06. The flagging vendors include Kaspersky, BitDefender, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Gridinsoft, CRDF and alphaMountain.ai. Spamhaus lists it in its domain blocklist under the phishing category. MetaMask and SEAL, two blocklists focused on crypto threats, carry it alongside PhishDestroy. Four AlienVault OTX threat pulses also reference it, so several research teams have tracked it independently.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through Dynadot LLC. on 2026-09-27, just seven days before PhishDestroy caught it. That short gap is typical of throwaway phishing domains set up for a quick campaign. The site sits behind Cloudflare's network in the US, which hides the origin server. Its numeric .app name gives visitors no real brand to recognise, so they have to rely on how the page looks.

What to do

If you entered a password on this site, change it immediately on the genuine service and on any account that shares it, then turn on app-based two-factor authentication. If you connected a crypto wallet or signed anything, check your wallet's token approvals and revoke unfamiliar ones. Move remaining assets to a fresh wallet if you approved transfers or exposed a seed phrase. Never type a recovery phrase into any website. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and proxy level, and search mail and chat logs for links pointing to it.
