Overview

874362coinbase.com is a phishing domain that impersonates Coinbase. It targets Coinbase customers who may mistake a brand name padded with a random number for a legitimate address. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-17. As of 2026-10-19 the domain no longer resolves in DNS, so the page is offline for now, though the name could be reactivated.

How the scam works

Coinbase impersonation sites copy the exchange's look so visitors believe they are on the real service. The fake page then asks for an email, password and two-factor codes, which lets the operators sign in to the real account and move funds out. Some variants also ask for a recovery phrase, which gives the attackers direct control of a self-custody wallet. Once credentials or a seed phrase have been handed over, the victim's balances can be emptied within minutes.

Evidence

Six of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain on 2026-09-17: ChainPatrol, alphaMountain.ai, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, Gridinsoft and LevelBlue. Six detections is a modest count, but they came within two days of registration and include a crypto-focused vendor. Independently, the domain appears on the PhishDestroy, MetaMask and SEAL blocklists, and Spamhaus lists it in its DBL as a phishing domain. It is also referenced in two AlienVault OTX threat pulses.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-09-15 through NICENIC INTERNATIONAL GROUP CO., LIMITED and was detected just two days later, a short lifespan typical of disposable phishing domains. The numeric prefix in front of the brand name suggests the name was generated for bulk use rather than chosen by hand. The site sat behind Cloudflare's network, with the address geolocated to Canada. That setup hides the real origin server from visitors.

What to do

If you entered your Coinbase email and password on this site, change the password immediately from the official app or site, reset two-factor authentication, and review active sessions, linked devices and withdrawal addresses. Contact Coinbase support if you see any login or transfer you do not recognize. If you typed a recovery phrase, treat that wallet as compromised and move the remaining assets to a new wallet with a freshly generated phrase. Defenders should block the domain and look for similar number-prefixed Coinbase lookalikes in DNS and mail logs.
