PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

vepoplumbers.com is an impersonation phishing page that presents itself under the name "VepoPlumbers". It sits on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists, which shows it is a threat to crypto wallet users rather than to people looking for a plumber. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-14. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving content.

How the scam works

The page title shows a plumbing business name, while our classification is impersonation phishing. Impersonation sites borrow a familiar or trustworthy-looking identity so visitors lower their guard. They then push the visitor to enter credentials, recovery phrases or private keys, or to connect a wallet and sign requests. Anything typed or signed on such a page goes straight to the operators, and that can mean losing account access or the funds in a connected wallet.

Evidence

Seven of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain at the 2026-10-18 check: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, Gridinsoft, SOCRadar and VIPRE. That count is modest, but the vendors are independent of each other and agree on the verdict. Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL as phishing. MetaMask and SEAL, two blocklists maintained specifically for the crypto ecosystem, also carry it alongside PhishDestroy. Seven AlienVault OTX pulses reference the domain, so other researchers are tracking it too.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2020-02-28 through Namecheap, more than six years before PhishDestroy detected it. That long history can help a domain slip past filters that distrust newly created names. The site is hosted on Namecheap's own network (AS22612) in the United States, so registration and hosting sit with the same provider. It uses a free Let's Encrypt certificate, so the padlock in the browser says nothing about whether the site is legitimate.

What to do

Do not enter any credentials, seed phrase or private key on vepoplumbers.com. If you connected a wallet and approved anything, use a token-approval checker to revoke those permissions. If you typed a recovery phrase, move your funds to a new wallet right away. If you reused a password there, change it everywhere you used it and turn on two-factor authentication. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and web proxies, add it to mail filtering, and report it to Namecheap's abuse team so the live content gets taken down.
