PhishDestroy threat report
vaptgo.com hosted a fake page titled "Social Security | Statement Access" that copied the look of the US Social Security Administration's statement service. It targeted Americans who expect benefit statements and could be convinced their statement was waiting online. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-23, and the site went offline that same day. When last checked on 2026-10-19 it was still dead, with its DNS no longer resolving.
Lures of this type usually arrive by email or text claiming a new Social Security statement is ready or that an account needs attention. The victim lands on a page branded as "Statement Access" and is asked to sign in or confirm identity details such as a Social Security number, date of birth, address or banking information. Some variants instead push a "statement" download that installs remote-access software. Either way, the victim gives away the details needed for identity theft, benefit redirection or account takeover. The domain name itself has no connection to Social Security, which is typical of throwaway phishing hosts.
Detection by outside vendors is thin. On 2026-09-23, VirusTotal showed 3 of 89 engines flagging the domain: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF and SOCRadar. Two AlienVault OTX threat pulses reference it. PhishDestroy is the only blocklist listing it, so most browser and mail filters would not have warned visitors while it was live.
The domain was registered on 2025-02-10 through HOSTINGER operations, UAB, more than a year and a half before it surfaced as a Social Security lure. A long-dormant or repurposed domain can slip past filters that treat newly registered names with suspicion. It was hosted in the US on HostPapa's network (AS36352).
If you entered your Social Security number, date of birth or bank details here, place a credit freeze with all three US credit bureaus and report the identity theft to the FTC. If you signed in with your real Social Security account credentials, change that password right away, turn on two-step verification, and check your payment and direct-deposit settings for changes. If you downloaded a file from the page, disconnect the device and scan it for remote-access tools before you use it for banking. Security teams should block the domain and its hosting IP, and search mail and proxy logs for any traffic to it around 2026-09-23.
Location describes the IP network.
Saved certificate metadata. Certificate dates without a timezone are shown as stored. Transport encryption does not establish that the site is trustworthy.
An estimated time describes an observation window. It does not prove a registrar action or the exact moment a site became unavailable.
Dated changes retained by the monitor and source collectors. Newest observations appear first; source states are not proof of a takedown.

This report combines saved page captures, registration and network records, scanner results and PhishDestroy reporting history. Each source keeps its own observation date. Open a source report to inspect the original result.
