PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

trocrypts.com is an impersonation phishing page posing as a crypto platform called Trocrypt. It presents itself as "Trocrypt — Buy, Stake & Manage Crypto Securely" to draw in people looking for a place to buy and stake coins. The extra "s" in the domain is the kind of small spelling change that slips past a quick glance at the address bar. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-15, and on 2026-10-19 the site was still online and redirecting visitors.

How the scam works

The page copies the branding and promises of a legitimate-looking crypto service, offering buying, staking and portfolio management in one place. Visitors who believe they are on the real Trocrypt may sign in, send funds to buy or stake crypto, or connect a wallet to manage assets. Phishing sites of this type harvest login details, take deposits that are never credited, or push victims into wallet actions that move their tokens to the operators. Staking offers are a common lure because locked funds and delayed rewards give scammers time before victims notice anything is wrong.

Evidence

Seven of 92 VirusTotal engines flag the domain: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, Gridinsoft, SOCRadar and VIPRE. That count is moderate, but these seven vendors reached their verdicts independently, which supports our classification. Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL as spam, and four AlienVault OTX pulses reference it, so other researchers are tracking it as well. On top of these detections, the domain is on the PhishDestroy blocklist.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through ENOM, INC. on 2026-09-22, just 23 days before PhishDestroy detected it. A short gap like this is typical of throwaway domains set up for a single campaign. The site runs on the Ultahost, Inc. network, with its server located in Germany. It uses a free Let's Encrypt certificate, so the browser padlock only means the connection is encrypted. It says nothing about whether the site is honest.

What to do

If you entered a password or email here, change it wherever you reused it and turn on app-based two-factor authentication. If you connected a wallet or signed anything, revoke token approvals with a trusted approval-checker and move any remaining funds to a fresh wallet. Do not send more money to "unlock" staked funds or pay fees to withdraw, since that is how these schemes extract a second payment. Defenders should block trocrypts.com at the DNS and proxy level and warn users who search for Trocrypt services.
