PhishDestroy threat report
sourcesex.com was an impersonation phishing page that presented itself under the bare title "SOURCE", posing as a legitimate service to win visitors' trust. Its listing on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists places it squarely in the crypto space, where wallet users are the target. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-15. The site has been dead since 2026-09-28 and was still unreachable on 2026-10-19.
Impersonation pages copy the look and name of a project people already trust, here branded only as "SOURCE", so visitors act without second-guessing. In the crypto setting this usually means a prompt to connect a wallet, sign a transaction or approval, or type in a recovery phrase or login under the pretext of verification, claiming or syncing. Whatever is entered or signed goes to the operators. A seed phrase gives them the whole wallet, and a signed approval lets them move tokens later without asking again.
On 2026-09-25, 9 of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain. alphaMountain.ai, Bfore.Ai PreCrime, BitDefender, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Gridinsoft and Kaspersky were among them. That is a minority of engines, but they come from several independent vendors. The more telling signal is that both MetaMask's wallet-level blocklist and the SEAL security alliance list it alongside PhishDestroy, so wallet software will warn users before they load it. Four AlienVault OTX pulses also reference the domain, which means other researchers tracked it too.
The domain was registered through Cloudflare, Inc. on 2026-02-15, about seven months before PhishDestroy detected it. A lead time that long fits a domain kept in reserve or reused rather than one spun up the day of the attack. Its address sits on Cloudflare's network with a Canadian location, so the proxy hid the real origin server from public view. The site went offline thirteen days after detection.
If you connected a wallet to sourcesex.com, review and revoke any token approvals granted around that time using a trusted approval-checking tool. If you typed a recovery phrase, treat the wallet as compromised and move remaining funds to a newly created wallet immediately. If you entered a password, change it everywhere it was reused and turn on app-based 2FA. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and proxy level and search logs for visits since 2026-02-15.
