PhishDestroy threat report
scottjdecker.com hosts a credential phishing page dressed up as Dropbox. Under the title "View Document - Sign In", it targets anyone who receives what looks like a shared file and expects to log in to open it. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-27. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and its content was reachable through a redirect, so the lure remains live.
The victim usually arrives from an email or message saying a document has been shared with them. The page imitates a Dropbox file preview and then demands a sign-in before the file can be viewed. Whatever is typed into that form goes straight to the operators. That is often a work or personal email address and its password, not just Dropbox credentials. Those details can be used to take over the mailbox, reach any accounts tied to it and send the same lure to the victim's contacts.
On 2026-10-07, 16 of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain. They include Google Safe Browsing, BitDefender, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, alphaMountain.ai, CyRadar and Chong Lua Dao. Google Safe Browsing lists it under SOCIAL_ENGINEERING, which means browsers using that feed should show a warning before the page loads. urlscan.io rated a scan of the site malicious and recognised Dropbox branding on the page. PhishDestroy carries it on its blocklist.
The domain was registered on 2010-07-19 through Bluehost Inc., more than sixteen years before the phishing page was spotted. A personal-name domain of that age is not a freshly registered throwaway, which may help it slip past filters that weigh domain age. The site resolves to an address on Oracle Corporation's network in the United States. It uses a free Let's Encrypt certificate, so the padlock in the browser says nothing about whether the page is genuine.
If you entered a password on this page, change it right away on Dropbox and on your email account. Also change it on any other service where you reused it. Turn on two-factor authentication, sign out of all active sessions, and check your mailbox for forwarding rules or filters you did not create. Warn colleagues or contacts if you sent anything after visiting. Defenders should block the domain at mail and web gateways and search mail logs for messages linking to it. They should also reset credentials for any user who clicked through.

This report combines saved page captures, registration and network records, scanner results and PhishDestroy reporting history. Each source keeps its own observation date. Open a source report to inspect the original result.
