Overview

juruaeletro.com hosted a page titled "Global Forum on Productivity 2024, 15-16 October, Paris, France | OECD", posing as an official OECD event page. The domain name has nothing to do with the OECD, which is a strong sign that the site was not a legitimate event page. Its likely audience was economists, officials, researchers and business delegates expecting genuine conference material. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-16. It went offline on 2026-09-17, its content has since been blocked by the provider, and it was still dead when last checked on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Fake event pages copy the look and wording of a real conference so that invitees trust them. Visitors are then pushed to register, confirm attendance or download an agenda. That step is where the theft happens. Typical demands include an email or Microsoft 365 login, personal and passport details for supposed accreditation, or a card payment for registration or accommodation. A victim can lose account access, identity data or money, and a stolen mailbox can then be used to send convincing follow-up lures to colleagues.

Evidence

16 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain as of 2026-09-19. The flagging vendors include BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, alphaMountain.ai, CyRadar and Chong Lua Dao. That level of agreement among unrelated vendors makes a false positive unlikely. The domain also appears in five AlienVault OTX threat pulses and on the PhishDestroy blocklist.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through Namecheap on 2026-05-07, about four months before PhishDestroy detected it. That gap suggests it was either held in reserve or used quietly before this campaign surfaced. The site sat behind Cloudflare, with the network address geolocated to Canada, which hides the real origin server. Its free Let's Encrypt certificate gave the page a padlock, but a padlock says nothing about whether a site is genuine.

What to do

If you entered a password on this page, change it immediately, along with any other account that reused it. Turn on app-based or hardware-key two-factor authentication and review recent sign-ins and mailbox forwarding rules. If you paid a fee, contact your card issuer to dispute the charge and request a replacement card. If you submitted passport or ID details, watch for identity misuse. Confirm any OECD event registration only through the organisation's official site. Defenders should block the domain, search mail logs for links to it, and warn staff who handle conference invitations.
