PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

bedrock-calculator.com presents itself as "Bedrock Calculator — DonutSMP Base Finder", a Minecraft Fabric mod that supposedly helps players locate other people's bases on the DonutSMP server. PhishDestroy classifies it as an impersonation phishing page aimed at Minecraft players. We first saw it on 2026-09-29. At the last check on 2026-10-19, the host still answered, but its domain no longer resolved to any page content.

How the scam works

Base-finder tools promise an unfair advantage on competitive survival servers, which makes players eager to grab them without asking questions. Fake mod pages of this kind usually push a download or a sign-in step. The "mod" file or login form is then used to take over the victim's Minecraft, Microsoft or Discord account, or to pull saved browser data. The real loss is the account itself, plus any in-game progress, purchases and linked services that come with it.

Evidence

Ten of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain on 2026-10-01. The named detections include BitDefender, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Gridinsoft, CRDF, alphaMountain.ai and Chong Lua Dao, a spread of independent vendors. Spamhaus lists it in its DBL under the phishing category, which matters because many mail and DNS filters consume that list. Three AlienVault OTX pulses also reference the domain, and PhishDestroy carries it on our blocklist.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-04-13 through Web Commerce Communications Limited (WebNic.cc). That is roughly five and a half months before we detected it, so it sat dormant or quietly in use for a long stretch. It is hosted at 196.251.107.204 on the FEMO IT SOLUTIONS LIMITED network in Germany, behind a free Let's Encrypt certificate. The padlock in the browser says nothing about whether the site is trustworthy.

What to do

If you downloaded the mod, delete the file, remove it from your mods folder and run a full antivirus scan before launching Minecraft again. From a clean device, change your Microsoft account password and do the same for Discord and any passwords saved in your browser. Turn on two-factor authentication, then sign out of all active sessions so stolen tokens stop working. If you typed credentials into the site, treat that account as compromised and secure it the same way. Defenders should block the domain and its hosting IP and watch for mod files downloaded from it. Warn DonutSMP communities that "base finder" mods are a common lure.
