Overview

usdc223.com is an impersonation phishing site whose domain name borrows the USDC stablecoin brand to look like an official or affiliated service. It targets people who hold or trade USDC and are looking for a place to claim, swap or manage it. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-09. The site has been offline since 2026-10-14, its content blocked at the provider level, and it was still down when last checked on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Impersonation pages like this rely on a trusted name in the address bar. The "usdc" prefix plus a throwaway number lends just enough credibility to a link shared in chats, ads or fake support replies. Once visitors arrive, they are typically pushed to connect a wallet, sign a transaction or enter a recovery phrase or login details under the pretext of a claim, bonus or account check. Whatever they hand over is used to move funds out. The page carried the title "onkeyon", which does not reference USDC, while our classification is based on the brand impersonation in the domain itself.

Evidence

Independent detection is thin. On 2026-10-13 only one of 92 VirusTotal engines, LevelBlue, flagged the domain, so most security tools would have let it through. Among public blocklists, only PhishDestroy lists it. Four AlienVault OTX threat pulses reference the domain, which shows other researchers have tied it to malicious activity even though antivirus coverage stayed minimal.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2025-11-09 through Gname.com Pte. Ltd., about eleven months before PhishDestroy caught it. That gap suggests a name that was held in reserve or used quietly before this campaign surfaced. The site sat behind Cloudflare, with the network located in Canada, which hides the true origin server. Its Google Trust Services certificate means the padlock icon said nothing about whether the site was legitimate.

What to do

If you connected a wallet to usdc223.com, revoke any token approvals it obtained using a reputable approval checker. Move remaining USDC and other assets to a fresh wallet if you signed anything you did not fully understand. If you typed a seed phrase, treat that wallet as compromised and empty it into a new one immediately. If you entered an exchange or email login, change the password and reset 2FA. Defenders should block the domain, search proxy and DNS logs for past visits, and watch for sibling domains that pair "usdc" with numbers.
