PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

usdc057.com is an impersonation phishing page whose domain borrows the name of USDC, the widely held dollar stablecoin, to target crypto users who hold or trade it. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-09. The site went offline on 2026-10-14 after its hosting provider blocked the content, and it was still dead when rechecked on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Sites in this category pose as a trusted crypto brand so visitors lower their guard. A USDC-themed lure typically promises yield, an airdrop or a balance check. It then asks the visitor to connect a wallet, sign a transaction, deposit funds or type in a recovery phrase. Any of those steps can hand the operator control of the victim's stablecoins and other assets. The page itself carried the title "onkeyon", which does not reference USDC, while our classification rests on the brand impersonation in the domain and the site's behaviour.

Evidence

Detection is thin but independent. On 2026-10-13, VirusTotal showed 4 of 92 engines flagging the domain: Chong Lua Dao, Gridinsoft, LevelBlue and SOCRadar. Three AlienVault OTX threat pulses also reference it, so other researchers tracked it separately from us. PhishDestroy is the only blocklist carrying it, which means most browser and security filters likely let it through while it was live.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2025-12-29 through Gname.com Pte. Ltd., more than nine months before we caught it. That gap suggests it was either held in reserve or quietly active long before anyone reported it. Traffic ran through Cloudflare, Inc., with the serving address geolocated to Canada. This setup hides the true origin server, so the provider-level block that took it offline was the decisive step.

What to do

If you connected a wallet to usdc057.com, use a token-approval checker to revoke any allowances you granted, especially for USDC. Then move your remaining funds to a fresh wallet. If you entered a recovery phrase, treat that wallet as fully compromised and empty it immediately into one with a new seed. Do not send further deposits or "fees" to recover funds, because those requests are a common follow-up scam. Defenders should block the domain and look for similar "usdc"-plus-digits domains in DNS and proxy logs. They should also alert users that stablecoin-branded domains are a live impersonation pattern.
