How the scam works
Fake shops like this one copy the look of a real boutique, list stylish items at tempting discounts, and push visitors through a normal-looking checkout. Victims typically pay by card or a direct transfer. Afterwards they receive nothing, or they get cheap goods that bear no resemblance to the listing. The checkout also captures names, delivery addresses, phone numbers and payment details, which can be reused for further fraud. The "Asante Studios" branding gives the store a boutique identity that makes it look established, though the domain itself is only a few months old.
Evidence
urlscan.io rated the site malicious and specifically identified it as a fake shop, which independently matches our classification. On 2026-10-15, VirusTotal showed 6 of 92 engines flagging it: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft, LevelBlue and SOCRadar. That count is modest, so many browsers and security tools may not warn visitors yet. The domain also appears in 4 AlienVault OTX threat pulses, and PhishDestroy lists it on its blocklist.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered through Dynadot Inc. on 2026-07-14, about 85 days before we detected it. That gap is consistent with a store being built and stocked with fake listings before it starts attracting buyers. It is hosted on the Malakmadze Web LLC network, which is registered in Georgia, while the server itself geolocates to the United States. The site uses a free Let's Encrypt certificate, so the padlock in the browser says nothing about whether the shop is genuine.
What to do
If you placed an order, call your card issuer or bank now, report the charge as fraud and request a chargeback. Keep your order confirmations and any emails from the shop as evidence. If you created an account there and reused that password anywhere else, change it on those other services. Treat follow-up messages about "delivery problems" or refund offers with suspicion, because scammers use them to collect more payments or data. Security teams should block asafashion.shop and watch for lookalike Asante Studios storefronts appearing on new domains.
