PhishDestroy threat report
worldbitcapital.online is an impersonation phishing page whose name is built to sound like a crypto investment or trading firm. It targets people looking to grow their crypto holdings, who may take the branding at face value. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-08-10, and the site was still online and serving content when last checked on 2026-10-19.
The page title is simply the bare domain name, so it does not reveal which brand is being copied. Sites in this impersonation category borrow the look and credibility of a legitimate platform to get visitors to register, log in or deposit. In crypto-investment schemes, the victim typically sees a dashboard showing growing balances, but those balances are not real money. Withdrawals are then blocked, or new "fees" and "taxes" are demanded before payout. Victims lose their deposited crypto and any login details or personal information they enter.
On 2026-09-21, VirusTotal showed 5 of 89 engines flagging the domain: alphaMountain.ai, Chong Lua Dao, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft and SOCRadar. That is a low count, so many browsers and security tools may still let the page load without a warning. The domain also appears in 5 AlienVault OTX threat pulses, and it is listed on the PhishDestroy blocklist.
The domain was registered through Namecheap on 2025-11-15, nearly nine months before PhishDestroy detected it. That long gap suggests the name was registered well before it went into active use. The site is hosted on Interserver's network in the United States. It uses a free Let's Encrypt certificate, so the padlock in the address bar only means the connection is encrypted and says nothing about whether the site is legitimate.
Do not deposit anything, and do not pay any "withdrawal fee" or "unlock" charge. Money sent to recover a balance shown on this site will not bring the balance back. If you created an account here, change that password everywhere you reused it and turn on two-factor authentication. Save your transaction IDs and chat logs, then report the loss to your exchange and local authorities. Expect follow-up "recovery service" offers, which are often run by the same scammers. Defenders should block the domain and its hosting IP at DNS and proxy level and add it to their phishing watchlists.
For this gTLD, the registrar above operates under an ICANN accreditation agreement. The links below provide the official fee schedule and current DNS abuse compliance guidance.
