woodies-sale.shop is an impersonation phishing site. Its name pairs "woodies" with "sale" on a .shop domain, the typical pattern of a fake discount store borrowing a retailer's identity to look legitimate to bargain hunters. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-20. On 2026-10-19 the domain was still alive and redirecting visitors elsewhere rather than serving its own content.
How the scam works
Impersonation shops of this kind copy a known store's look and push steep "sale" prices so shoppers rush to check out. The checkout collects names, addresses, phone numbers, account logins and payment card details. Victims typically lose the money they pay, receive nothing or a cheap substitute, and have their card and contact data reused for further fraud. When last loaded, the page title read "500 Internal Server Error", which does not match the impersonation phishing classification. The active redirect means the domain can still forward traffic to wherever the operators currently point it.
Evidence
On 2026-09-30, 17 of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain. They include established names such as BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Gridinsoft, alphaMountain.ai and the Vietnamese anti-scam group Chong Lua Dao. Spamhaus lists it in its Domain Block List under the phishing category (DBL_PHISH), which mail filters and resolvers rely on to block it. Four AlienVault OTX pulses also reference the domain, so other researchers have tracked it independently of PhishDestroy's own listing.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered on 2026-05-21 through Spaceship, Inc. That is about four months before PhishDestroy detected it, so it was either kept in reserve or ran quietly for some time first. It sits behind Cloudflare, Inc., which hides the real origin server, and the address resolves to Canada. The Let's Encrypt certificate (YE1) only means the padlock icon appears. It says nothing about whether the shop is genuine.
What to do
If you bought something here, call your card issuer now, report the charge as fraud, request a chargeback and replace the card. If you created an account, change that password wherever you reused it, and turn on two-factor authentication for your email and shopping accounts. Expect follow-up phishing that uses the name, address or phone number you entered, and ignore "order problem" or "refund" messages tied to this store. Defenders should block the domain at DNS, proxy and mail gateways, use the Spamhaus DBL listing in their filters, and watch for lookalike .shop domains with similar "sale" naming.
