updater-zoom.xyz is a credential phishing page built around the Zoom brand. Its domain name suggests an official Zoom software updater, which is a lure for people who expect to install a meeting client or patch before joining a call. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-19. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving content.
How the scam works
Fake updater domains copy a routine action: a meeting link or message says your Zoom client is out of date, and the victim lands on a page that asks them to sign in or confirm their account before downloading the update. Whatever they type goes to the operators, and the victim loses control of that account and anything tied to the same password. The live page carries a German-language title, "Informationen zum Thema updater zoom.", which reads like a generic topic page rather than a login form, while we classify the domain as credential phishing.
Evidence
On 2026-09-29, 6 of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft, SOCRadar and Webroot. What to do
